Data Erasure
Computers provide easy and seemless access to information. Almost every piece of information conceivable is held and transferred between computers including personal banking details, credit card numbers, new product design plans, social security numbers, medical records and so on. However, they can also be a massive liability if the information in question is not handled correctly. EWS-I uses a triple-pass formatting compliant to DoD 5220.22-M standard to ensure that all data is completely overwritten from hard drives.

Physical Destruction
EWS-I has on-site shredding capability to provide secure destruction of circuit boards and integrated circuits.

We practise the following security measures in our recycling and recovery process to ensure that the electronic components and products are recycled :

• representatives from our clients are invited to witness the crushing process and a certificate of destruction stating the date and time of destruction is issued thereafter;
• all entrances and exits of our plant and our recycling and recovery process are monitored by a 24-hour closed-circuit television to ensure security of the plant and the precious metals extracted.
• The Compound is ring fenced and guarded to provide 24 hr Security.
• High Value storage Cages and Vaults are locked and monitored. Access to these areas is strictly controlled. Regular audits are carried out to ensure integrity of the stock.
• Employees are monitored by CCTV in areas where product is physically exposed and handled. Employees exiting the building are body scanned for extra security.
• A full review of security measures is possible during an audit of the facilities.
